Cambridge Youth Lacrosse (CYL) will be offering the following options for the 2018 Spring season:
Program starts April 2nd – mid-June, weather permitting. No Experience Necessary!
We will be fielding teams in these age groups:
|Under 9||1st & 2nd Grade|
|Under 11||3rd & 4th Grade|
|Under 13||5th & 6th Grade|
|Under 15||7th & 8th Grade|
|* If a team option is not available for your peer group, we will make our best effort to place you on an appropriate team.|
Teams will be filled on a first come, first served basis. However, we will add additional teams by age group if the numbers support it.
This year, we are adding U13 and U15 boys select teams to our offerings. Our select teams offer 8 additional weekly game opportunities for players interested in even more competitive play and playoffs at the end of the season. Select games are in addition to our normal Sunday gameday schedule and are held on either Friday or Saturday evenings. Select players are REQUIRED by MBYLL to play both "classic" town AND Select games.
Interested players will be evaluated based on skill, athleticism, attitude, and commitment the first week of the season. Cuts will be made if the number of interested players exceeds competitive roster capacity.
Our weekend Co-Ed development and skills program for both boys and girls 7 years old and younger emphasizes:
Program runs Saturdays, April 7 – June 17th, weather permitting, from 8 to 10a at Danehy Park.
Prior experience playing lacrosse is NOT required!
Depending on numbers, we will schedule one-off scrimmages with other programs as parents see fit.
Lacrosse is a great game, and our coaching philosophy starts with the belief that playing lacrosse is fun for everyone. If your son or daughter is interested in playing lacrosse, whether he or she is just beginning or has been playing for years, we hope they will play with CYL. We want your boys and girls to work hard, to learn some skills, to run around, to play fair, to make some friends, and to take some risks. There are a ton of new and challenging situations we will put your children through, and as they go through these situations and sometimes succeed and sometimes fail, we will support them relentlessly, and in the process, they will gain new confidence and have a ton of fun.
